Description: The Center for the Advancement of Math and Science Education at Black Hills State University will hold a 5-day continuation of the Modeling Physics workshop in Madison, SD at Dakota State University. Madison is in eastern SD, between Sioux Falls and Brookings.

Content: Newton's laws. This is a continuation of the 2013 5-day introduction to Modeling Instruction. Participants are expected to have previously taken at least 5 days of introduction to Modeling Instruction.

Priority to South Dakota teachers; out of state teachers are welcome on a space-available basis.

Lodging and most meals provided.
Modest stipends for full attendance by SD teachers.

A 5-day workshop is not a full-fledged Modeling Workshop. Modeling Instruction is a complex transformative pedagogy. Experience has shown that most teachers require at least three weeks (or 80 to 90 contact hours) of intensive workshop to begin to implement it.  We're doing what we can with the funding we can get.

Benefits: Stipend
Benefit Explanation: Grant funds will support South Dakota teachers.  Out of state teachers welcome on a no-support basis.

Get two hours of Graduate Credit  for the low low price of  $80!
Other Prerequisites: A prior introduction to Modeling Instruction, of a minimum of 5 days duration.

The workshop is for current and prospective teachers of high school physics, chemistry, math, and/or physical science.
