2019 PhysTEC Conference

Join us at the nation's largest meeting dedicated to the education of future physics teachers, immediately preceding the APS March Meeting 2019, and attend workshops on best practices, panel discussions by national leaders, and excellent networking opportunities for physics teacher educators.

The 2019 PhysTEC Conference will include a presentation on the new Thriving Physics Teacher Education Programs report, which identifies common practices and structures of highly successful programs so that these approaches may be emulated by other physics teacher education programs, along with much more!

We are committed to supporting minority-serving institutions that wish to become leaders in physics teacher preparation and are offering a limited number of stipends More information can be found under registration.

Following the conclusion of the 2019 PhysTEC Conference A post-conference workshop titled Get the Facts Out: Changing the Conversation Around STEM Teacher Recruitment will be offered Sunday, March 3, 2019. This workshop designed to address some of the common misperceptions discouraging promising students from exploring and pursuing a career in STEM education. Dr. Adams will speak on the major concerns voiced by students and present the realities of the many benefits to a career as a STEM teacher.

This workshop is free of charge for all those attending the 2019 PhysTEC Conference or APS March Meeting.
