Dates and Location

The 2011 PhysTEC Conference will take place at the AT&T Conference Center in Austin, TX and will run 9:00am to 8:00pm on Monday, May 23rd and 8:30am to 3:30pm on Tuesday, May 24th.


A block of rooms has been reserved at the conference hotel. Please note reservations must be made by May 9, 2011 to receive the discounted conference rate:

Enter group code PTEDCO0511 on the Reservations page to receive the discounted conference rate. There are rooms left in the room block. If you have trouble with the website, please call the hotel to make your reservation.


The AT&T Conference Center provides complimentary high-speed Internet service in all guestrooms.


Your conference registration includes continental breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon breaks, and a reception on Monday evening. Dinner is on your own on all days. There are several restaurants in the hotel, as well as many within walking distance. The hotel also provides courtesy transportation for destinations within a two-mile radius, based upon availability.


Austin, TX is served by the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). Most major car rental firms operate within the airport, as well as taxis, limousines and an airport shuttle service.

Travel Support for Minority-Serving Institutions

We are committed to supporting minority-serving institutions that wish to become leaders in physics teacher preparation, and are offering a limited number of stipends of up to $800 to qualified institutions to support travel to the conference.
