|Description:||The DOE's Pre-Service Teacher (PST) program is designed to provide educational training and research experiences at Department of Energy laboratories for a diverse group of highly motivated undergraduate students who are interested in becoming K-12 science, mathematics, and technology teachers. The program allows pre-service teachers to learn about the real world of science, mathematics, and technology, and provides opportunities to creatively transfer this knowledge to the classroom.
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's research and development includes new energy technologies and environmental solutions with a focus on energy efficiency, electric reliability, carbon management and global climate change, and fusion. Frontier research experiences exist in nanoscience, genomics and cancer research, advanced computing, and observing matter and energy at the most fundamental level in the universe.

|Citizenship Requirement:||U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Legal Resident
|Other Prerequisites:||Undergraduate students majoring in science or engineering participating in the UC Cal Teach program or the CSU Science Teacher and Researcher (STAR) program; at least 18; participants must have medical insurance during their time at the Lab.
