Video Resource for LA Development… Now a Part of Periscope

The Video Resource for Learning Assistant Development is a package of lessons centered on classroom video, designed to supplement the University of Colorado's widely disseminated LA development program.

These lessons are now part of Periscope, which is a more extensive resource providing physics faculty, graduate teaching assistants, and undergraduate learning assistants with the opportunity to “look into learning” in best-practices university physics classrooms. Like the Video Resource for LA Development, Periscope offers short lessons that highlight significant questions in the teaching and learning of physics, such as how to help your students work well in groups, or whether it matters if students are happy in your class. Topics are introduced through captioned video episodes of introductory physics students in the classroom, chosen to prompt collaborative discussion.

Materials are available for free to verified educators.
