*If multiple sections of a course are taught by different instructors in a particular semester, please separate assessment data from sections taught by instructors who employ reformed or interactive curriculum and teaching methods and data from sections taught by instructors who employ traditional curriculum and teaching methods.

**If possible, calculate average scores only from students whose pre-tests and post-tests can be matched.

***Use the following formula to calculate the average normalize gain for matched pre- and post-test pairs:

Average normalized gain g =

We have been using the FCI foe at least ten years and the CSEM for at least four. But we have not done a very good job keeping track of the data in a consistent way. Thanks to the PhysTEC grant, we will compile, analyze, and archive the data more effectively. Also, our spring quarter ends June 6 so we don't have the spring CSEM data as of the submission of the first draft of the 2012-13 annual report.
