LA Video Resource - Nov 9, 2012
The Video Resource for Learning Assistant Development is a package (under development) of thematic case-based "video workshops," designed to supplement the University of Colorado's widely disseminated LA development program.
PhysTEC 2013 RFP - Oct 1, 2012
The Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PhysTEC) is requesting proposals for new sites. The deadline for submitting an initial proposal is October 26.
Proposals are requested for comprehensive sites (up to $300k) and targeted sites (up to $75k). Comprehensive sites are expected to implement the PhysTEC key components and show a substantial increase in physics teachers. Targeted sites are an opportunity to explore innovative models for improving physics teacher education.

Call for Manuscript Proposals - Aug 23, 2012
Manuscript proposals are currently being solicited for Effective Practices in Preservice Physics Teacher Education: Recruitment, Retention, and Preparation. This peer-reviewed book, which is being sponsored by the Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PhysTEC), the American Physical Society (APS), and the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), will be co-edited by Dr. Eric Brewe and Dr. Cody Sandifer. Effective Practices in Preservice Physics Teacher Education is scheduled for publication in 2015.
2012 Colorado Learning Assistant Workshop - Aug 20, 2012
The PhysTEC project will co-sponsor its fourth workshop focusing on the University of Colorado's Learning Assistant program in October 2012. The Learning Assistant program is a highly supported peer teaching experience that has been shown to improve students' learning and attitudes toward science in undergraduate lecture classes and recruit talented science and math students into teaching careers.
Building a Thriving Undergraduate Physics Program Workshop - Jun 20, 2012
APS in conjunction with AAPT held a workshop June 10-12, 2012 in College Park, MD to assist departments in developing strategies for increasing the number of physics majors. Presentations and resources from the workshop are now available.
PhysTEC announces new funded sites - May 14, 2012
The PhysTEC project recently announced it would fund Arizona State University; California Polytechnic University, Pomona; Central Washington University; James Madison University; University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa; University of Missouri, Columbia; and University of Wisconsin - La Crosse to develop their physics teacher education programs into national models.
