2012 Physics Teacher Education Coalition Conference Logistics

Dates and Location

The 2012 Physics Teacher Education Conference will take place at the Radisson Ontario Airport Hotel in Ontario, CA and will run 9:00am to 8:00pm on Friday, February 3 and 8:30am to 3:30pm on Saturday, February 4.


Hotel rooms are available at the Radisson Ontario Airport Hotel in the American Physical Society room block at a reduced rate of $89/night. Please reserve your room by January 16 to ensure you will get the reduced rate. To make a reservation, call the hotel and ask for the APS room block (promotional code APSAPS).

PhysTEC conference attendees planning to continue to stay at the Radisson for the AAPT conference should call Stacey Hadji at 909-975-4110 to arrange to stay in the same room for both events. Please note that the PhysTEC rate is different from the AAPT rate since AAPT is at the conference center.

Your conference registration includes continental breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon breaks, and a reception on Friday evening. Dinner is on your own on all days. There is a restaurant in the hotel, as well as others close by. The hotel also offers shuttle services based on availability.

Travel Support for Minority-Serving Institutions

We are committed to supporting minority-serving institutions that wish to become leaders in physics teacher preparation, and are offering a limited number of stipends of up to $800 to qualified institutions to support travel to the conference. We request recipients of the travel award to write a paragraph on how they intend to use what they learned at the conference and send it in with their Travel Support Application.
