Enrollments in K-8 Physical Science Courses

The PhysTEC project has improved the physical science preparation of future elementary teachers at a number of supported sites. The table below shows average enrollments in high quality physical science courses for future K-8 teachers during project funding.[1] These courses implemented research-based curricula included Physics and Everyday Thinking (PET), Physical Science and Everyday Thinking (PSET), and Physics by Inquiry. Towson University, which focused on elementary teacher preparation, developed a series of three courses on physical science content and science methods. Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, also focused on elementary teacher preparation, implemented two physical science courses for future K-8 teachers.
